Combining frame-by-frame video analysis with 3D measurements of the accident site, it is possible to determine vehicle positions and speeds directly from surveillance video of an accident. We have successfully applied this technique to heavy truck collisions, passenger car accidents, and vehicle-to-bicycle accidents.
